Averitt Aviation Receives FAA Diamond Award for Aircraft Maintenance Training

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 26, 2004) – Nashville-based Averitt Aviation has received the Federal Aviation Administration’s Diamond Award for aircraft maintenance training.

The Diamond Award, the FAA’s highest level award for maintenance training, is a certificate of excellence given to select companies participating in the FAA Aviation Technician Training Program. To qualify, at least a quarter of an aviation service company’s maintenance technicians must participate in extensive training in a variety of aircraft systems, regulations, and FAA rules over a 12-month period. One hundred percent of Averitt’s technicians were participants.

To be eligible for individual awards, aviation technicians must complete two hours of FAA regulations training, 10 days or 58 hours of aviation maintenance training, and 40 classroom attendance hours or three credits in an approved college level course. In all, Averitt Aviation technicians received over 200 hours of training.

This marks the third year in a row Averitt Aviation has been a recipient of the prestigious honor.

“Receiving this award indicates Averitt’s goals toward excellence by placing high priority on knowledge and skills training of our associates,” said Steve Gregory, Executive Vice-President of Averitt Aviation.
